I have to disagree. I think more original movies are done for streaming because producers realize that cable/dish is going the way of the landline phone.

People are tired of paying exorbitant fees for hundreds of channels, when most watch only a small fraction of available channels.

Show creators are going where the money is.

True. If it weren't for the Netflix model, we wouldn't be getting great stuff like House of Cards, etc. The film/TV industry needs to adapt. The music industry failed to do so with the emergence of MP3/digital media and it effectively killed them.

Wait now. If you put Megan Fox naked and handcuffed to a bed, I'd watch.

1922 premieres there too!

There were reports in the media today that Gerald's Game (and 1922) will premiere at a film festival in September, so here's hoping it shows up on Netflix shortly thereafter.

I hope we get announcements about it soon. I want to start my free Netflix trial for this. By that time The Mist first season should be complete too.

It's scheduled for September 29 release...but I have yet to see a trailer for it. Is that a bad sign or just bad (nonexistent) marketing?
....welcome.....I don't think it's either....possibly they just don't want to bore people to death with promo after promo....till you've seen most of the damn movie in one minute snippets....

Some of yous guyses are so funny! Handcuff sales, Maine real estate, McConaughey as Jesse , & yes Carla Gugino is delicious. I prefer her to Megan Fox in fact. :redface-new: Someone just shared the trailer for this in one of my Facebook groups, it's getting so close!! I know I've already said it, but I'm *so* excited!! I'm a weirdo about not getting too much info so I didn't watch the trailer. This is a book-to-screen adaptation dream come true for me!
(I thought McConaughey was awful in The Dark Tower by the way-what kind of accent was he trying to fake? Bleh.)
