That sounds like the places in Maine that Stephen King describes - was it Derry that had the paper mill and therefore the immense sewer system?Funny - I lived in Mobile in 1980 - I was 11. Those paper mills were kind of smelly - are they still there. Certain days the entire city would have that boiled cabbage scent wafting in the air.

Here's the only Mardi Gras I have.
LOL - my typos! Well, one might work, but both boobies are best - and no, not 2 Andys silly!Just one boob?

I am sorry to hear that. Industry all over America is shutting down and going away. I lived in a small TN town from 1981 - 1987 that had a textile factory that employed about 90% of the town, it's gone and the town is suffering greatly. So sad! I really lived out in Satsuma back then (1980)- some of my fondest memories are roller skating at Rambo's. Do you know of it?Fortunately Holly, or unfortunately, depending on how business is in Mobile lately, the papermill shut down some time ago, but it took a long while for that smile through that area to fade away... There's a lot more boob showage over in New Orleans... Mobile is the slightly more family-friendly version... (although some of that does go on here too)
Yep Rambo's Skateland is still there... and I meant to write 'smell' above not 'smile'...I am sorry to hear that. Industry all over America is shutting down and going away. LOL - I never read it as "smile" - it was smell all the time. Clearly I'm a mind reader. Oh Rambo's - what fun I had there. To be in 5th grade again would be so much fun!Yep Rambo's Skateland is still there... and I meant to write 'smell' above not 'smile'...
I'll NEVER think it's bad to like this movie. I actually met, briefly, one of the people IN it. He played Mr. Toomey.
I met him when I worked at a hospital in West Hollywood. He got hurt on the set of his prime time series, Perfect Strangers.
He's the only "celebrity" I ever met who DIDN'T think he was all that, but of course I haven't met very MANY famous people. And all the ones I DID meet - or most of them - were sick or overdosing on some drug.
I like supporting celebrities who have at least a TINY amount of modesty, and he had more than a small amount.
The Langoliers holds a special place in my heart because I first saw it prior to being a CR, really enjoyed it due to the strangeness of the story, though was probably not aware that sK had had anything to do with it.Watched it yesterday and though obviously dated was decent enough to keep the interest despite some very wooden acting .
You van find a whole host of SK TV movies on you tube
