I though you all might enjoy this: I ordered a used copy of "The Bachman Books: Four Early Novels by Stephen King" online from a seller in the UK. The package arrived today, and there seems to have been a mixup . . . . .

IMG_0830.JPG

I am still laughing because of *all* the books to confuse with the Bachman Books, Mary Katherine's Roadside Church Signs Across America would be one of the last that would come to my mind. . . in terms of weight, cover, author (KA v. KI), and content the books are so very different that I am still not sure how the mixup was made (other than by a *very* tired employee). The seller was lovely and responsive, so the mixup will be fixed, but what a funny way to greet the week!

It's happened to me before, too. Twice with thriftbooks and they took care of it immediately.

My recent book buys aren't from thrift store. Last week I ordered off of Amazon, Star Wars Scourge and the 2017 edition of Uncle John Bathroom Reader which is still new to me until a 2018 edition comes along at Barnes and Noble or whatever.

I'm probably one of the few people that really enjoy those Uncle John Bathroom Reader books

I'm not one to spend a lot of time sitting on the toilet but I can see where having one of those in the bathroom might be good for comic relief :flex:

If you only read an uncle John bathroom reader book when you're in the bathroom, then you're just weird for doing that in the first place
...somehow, I just don't understand the logic of this....it's my personal choice where to read and if choose to read something while I'm on the crapper-so be it....no worse than staring at the wall, flipping through your phone etc.......and it's called a "bathroom reader".....soooooo........

Found a hardcover first edition of Legends (very good condition) for under $5. Also bought a used paperback of The Bottoms by Joe R. Lansdale. I haven't read any of his work before.
Lansdale is one of those writers that refuses to be pigeonholed into one category- he writes in pretty much any genre he d*mn well pleases and he usually does any outstanding job. I especially like his 'Hap & Leonard' tales myself. I think you will enjoy his work and that you will want to read more of his stuff when you finish The Bottoms.

It's all a matter of personal preference - knew a guy who just had to have something to read while doing his business - hey - whatever makes a person happy I figure :smile-new:
That's disgusting. It's thoughts like this I try to block out when at a used bookstore. I don't think I've ever been in the bathroom long enough to warrant bringing reading material. LOL.
