You live in Liverpool?! Have you ever gone to the cavern before?
I am from Liverpool but uve never been to the cavern.
We visited Liverpool on our UK trip in 2009. We really loved it. Beautiful!
There is a lot more to Liverpool than the Beatles, it has some great architecture- the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals, the royal liver building, it has a rich history, good and bad - it was one of the UK's busiest trading ports, the slave trade came through Liverpool a lot and as a result we have a huge diverse African community and one of the biggest China towns outside of Asia. It's a shame it's always just about the beatles.

Spoiler, language in this clip.
My town is where the little trees are manufactured, the car deodorizers you can see in this scene from Se7en.. which is a little creepy, especially considering that we had a cannibal serial killer get his start in this town in the 70s, then was released from jail after doing his max sentence and began killing again in Rochester New York.. well we have a few other things more positive about the place but nothing major, for instance this is Viggo Mortensen's hometown, the guy that was Aragorn in Lord of the Rings..

We took the double-decker bus tour. We saw all of the above and it was wonderful :)

The only photograph I have of my father during WWII was taken on his ship (standing with the 102 mm deck gun he manned) docked in Liverpool, a few days before D-day. He told me the crew was mad as hell because Liverpool was a hopping city and they had hoped to enjoy themselves on shore leave as it might be their last days on earth. He was on a Liberty ship and along with supplies for D-day they had loaded a shipment of prison cells (for captured enemy) that were to be assembled in the cargo hold once the supplies were unloaded in France. But because the crew knew the invasion was happening in a few days they weren’t allowed to leave the ship out of fear someone might spill the beans.

I grew up in a small prairie town, in the middle of Saskatchewan. The only famous/infamous thing I can recall is that a guy I knew, after a party, and in an alcohol induced frenzy, decided to climb the water tower to be closer to Jesus. We tried to stop him to no avail and eventually we went on our way. I guess he left town shortly thereafter because no-one saw him around anymore. 4 months later they found his decomposed body in the water tower where he most likely drowned.
Oh yummy - sounds like an episode of Bones or one of those other forensic shows - and that was the water that supplied the town? Yikes!

Speaking of the war in Liverpool, this is st Luke's church, commonly known as the bombed out church. It was hit during the blitz in 1941 and fire ruined it. It was decided it would be left as an open shell as a memorial to those who died during the war.
