The dust jacket makes up about 80-90% of the value of a collectible book. Putting a reproduction dust jacket will not increase the value of a book at all. Your best bet would be to do the options above or even try the publisher as a long shot. John

Just a note--the presence of that 'authentication" sticker devalues the book somewhat. It's equivalent to having someone's bookplate attached to the book. John

If it's not a "special" edition of some sort (very limited print run, signed, etc.) there is no good reason for such a price increase other than greed. (By the way, just because they are asking that much doesn't mean that they'll get it.) John

i personally appreciate the resellers. If it weren't for them, I'd have never gotten much of my collection. I understand, to some degree, your feelings, but I also realize that, due to circumstances beyond my control, that I would miss out on a lot. John

Scott, do the ones that appear to be first editions have a price on the dust jacket? Most BCE don't, although they are otherwise identical to the true firsts. If they do have a price, you are getting a great deal! John
