Tell Us About Your "first Time"

Pet Semetary was my first SK book, that was a few years ago around Halloween. I was at the library, wanted to read something for the Halloween season, so I thought I would check out a SK book. It did not take me long to get through that book, I was hooked right away, could not put it down and...

    It's Winter Olympic time

I am looking forward to short track skating. So exciting and unpredictable, probably my favorite of all the events.

    What Are You Reading?

I had read the Stand once, and it was the uncut version. I am now reading the cut version for the first time, and I find that I am enjoying this version better. What great characters! I purchased Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews today and will be reading it soon. I have never read a...

Support for LGBT's at the Olympics

I noticed that too....love it!! I wish everyone a safe Olympic experience, and hope everything goes smoothly. The march of the nations during the opening ceremony is always one of my favorite Olympic moments. I am not much of a sports fan, but when the Olympics come around I cannot stop...

Would You Guys Give Stephen King To Your Child To Read?

Carrie would be a great read for teenagers, as bullying being such a big issue in today's society. The Mist would be a great one start out with too! But I agree, it would depend on the child. I do not have children, but I would not hesitate if I felt they could handle them. In my opinion, the...

    Feeling down

Things will get better, don't give up. I have learned that myself over the past few months. ((HUGS)) to you!

Do You Prefer E-book Readers Or Having The Physical Book?

I will admit, at first I was very much against the idea of e-books. That was until the lady my mom takes care of said that she could not read if it were not for her Kindle. This lady has trouble with her arms, it got to the point where it became too painful for her to lift a book to read. Yet...

    Joe Hill

So far I have only read Horns and Heart Shaped Box, the latter being my favorite. I am ready to read NOS4A2 and will purchase a copy soon. I just checked today, and sadly my library does not have a copy of it. And I honestly thought I was the only one fangirling over Joe! ;-D He's a cutie...

    Big Driver

I love Big Driver, it is my favorite from Full Dark, No Stars. As a woman, I found it a difficult read. It made me think of what I would do if I were in Tess' situation, such a scary thing! And I agree, it would be a great film. I love the idea of Lauren Graham as Tess. Lauren Graham is...

    Favorite King Short Story?

If I had to pick only one, it would be the Mist. The whole concept of that story is brilliant, plus it gives the creeps every time I read it. It is amazing, SK can take something as mundane as grocery shopping and turn it into complete terror! I think of this story sometimes while grocery...

Stephen King References In Popular Culture

One of my favorite shows, Supernatural, has had several SK references throughout the series. I usually wait until the show is out on DVD before I watch the new seasons, but from what I read, last night's episode had a reference to Thinner. Can't wait to see that! :welcoming:

Mr King getting flack on twitter?

Some can take the smallest thing and turn it into something it is not. Stephen gave a great apology and explanation, yet people still found something wrong in that. It is sad. I do hope Stephen does continue to use twitter though....his tweets have been great! :smile-new:

    Finished it....

I finished it a few days ago, and I loved it! Dan has continued to go on as a great character, now Abra has become another favorite character of mine. The ending really pulled at my heartstrings.

    Wherefore Art Thou.

I am not mentioned in this thread, but I did not want to start a new thread to say that I've been away. I have really missed being on here. I took a bit of a computer break and did not do a lot on it these past few months. Not trying to get too personal, I had been a bit depressed and lost...
