This was by far my favorite of SK's recent works. Don't get me wrong, Sleeping Beauties and the The Outsider were fairly solid and held my attention but neither actually gripped me and made me feel like I didn't want to put them down. I didn't like Elevation at all, so I have been waiting for...
Dinky's the man. Although I will never NOT be able to think of that character and not see him as Justin Long, the actor. He reads the audio book as Dinky and owns it. They are linked forever in my brain lol.
I would venture to say that the issue has more to do with how well kids are equipped to handle bullying vs. past generations. Bullying has always been around and always will be. Kids now don't seem to know how to process it and haven't been given the resources to cope with it, despite all the...
I was pretty dissapointed with this one I'm sad to say. I was hoping to read a great fast paced story and instead got several hundred pages of a political lecture disguised as a story. Felt like he pulled a fast one there. Oh well, that's one of the first times I've felt that way upon reading...
I struggled, struggled, struggled with this one, which is something I rarely do with SK stories. Literally took me 8 months to finish because I couldn't stay engaged long enough to read more than 5 or 10 pages at a clip. Then I wouldn't pick up the book again for weeks. I basically forced...
I struggled a lot with it in my first time through as well, so I can understand. However I did a re-read about 5 years later and liked it a lot better the second time around. I guess I got a better feel for the characters on the re-read and that helped a bunch. I found that on the first...
In my humble opinion you won't find a better story.....anywhere. Been a King reader for 20+ years and this one is still tops to me. I've read it or listened to it on Audio probably 6 times total and I never tire of it. In fact it seems to get better each time. But I always make sure to wait...
Well yet again I will eat a little crow. I complained about the casting choices before seeing it and stated that I wasn't really interested in seeing it. I did finally see it a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the actors and how faithful it was to the book. I enjoyed it. One...
I can still remember reading it during my 10th grade Math class. Had it propped inside my Math book and it really looked like I was paying attention. Wonder why I got C's in Math that year?
That book sucked me in immediately and it was a wild ride. I think in my teenage years alone I read it...
I loved the mini series. Aside from Tim Curry, who was fantastic, ya know what I like best? Every one of the adult actors in it came across on screen like they were really great friends and loved each other. I came to find out that there is a good reason for that. If you ever have access to...
Watched this a couple weeks back. Man, what a great adaptation! I honestly couldn't think of anything I would have changed with it. Great choices for the actors, very faithful, super creepy. Thumbs up!
Man I used to have the cassette audio book of Salem's Lot. Between moving houses over the years I lost them. Recently logged on to Amazon to try and find the CD version. The price was like $190. Guess it will just have to live in my memories lol.
If it is the full cast dramatization audio, I have that. Although the voice acting is a bit corny and overacted at times, a few times it's hilariously bad, it's an enjoyable presentation overall. You are right about the sound effects though. They do tend to drown out the speech here and there.
It is based on Cycle of the Werewolf, which was more of a graphic novel/comic book rather than a standard novel. I have it.....lots of wonderfully gruesome pictures lol.
