So VultureLvr45 - now that you have read the story, did you enjoy it? Was it worth the wait?
Yes, Thank-you for waiting for me. Yes, I did enjoy the story, but had to confess, there were many names, and details as Morgan mentioned last week. (Slightly too detail oriented for my taste), but again it showed pride in his son, the kids.

When it comes to the poem.... Well, i like the sentiment expressed but i have always favored rhymed poems with a more clear structure to them.
I still need to learn about the different types of poetry.

I understand this. I tend to enjoy the free form poems, but I know they are not to everyone's taste.
I liked the poem because it reminds me of everything about the day he is recalling. Sometimes those memories are 'messy' and can't be stated within certain constraints.

If we're talking poetry it can be very different but the verses should have a rhymingorder to the the poem a rhytm. or it could be like a Haiku. As Ben Hanscom put. 17 syllables, one image connected to one emotion and you're home.
If I remember correctly, a Haiku should reflect something from nature, such as a season or an animal
