Yeah. They do.

But sometimes they become Tet. And all is well.

That's why we have our Mods. Can't imagine what they have to wade thru to keep our boards what it is.

I'm pretty much the same way, if the adaptation isn't doing it for me I stop watching. If I can tell it is going to be bad, I don't go in the first place. There are always other people who can tell me if it is a surprise hit. There really is no need for me to take any risks at all. Still, all that being said, I don't have a problem with people coming to complain. I think bad reviews have just as much a place as the good ones. If we don't roast the bad stuff, how will we ever convince them to make better stuff? If we continually lower the bar, we get exactly the films we deserve. I love Sai King's work. I certainly qualify as a Constant Reader. I've also seen most of the films. I'm not a fan of those. Every now and then I get a nice surprise, but in general Hollywood mucks it up. I'm not going to pretend the bad one's don't stink because I love the books. I can't really comment on the adaptation of Epping's adventures because I decided not to see it. I haven't heard anything here from the people who hate it or the people who find "ok" to convince me that I've missed out. I love the book. I can always go watch it again there.

I read the novel last year and was at first disappointed, I was expecting a story about the JFK assassination and time travel! Two topics that really interest me. A few days went by and I began to see it for what it was, a great love story with time travel! As for the show, I was a little on the fence..but glad I stayed watching! The ending was worth it and will be rereading the novel again later, but still have many more SK books to read!

Newbie here, had to join to reply to the negativity to bring some balance to the force(wrong forum my apologies)

I've read a lot of King, and found out about this adaptation from the first commercial. The novel was amazing and I had great hope for the series.

Well those hopes were more than satisfied. I really enjoyed it and like others have said my wife who is not a king fan loved it as well. The Dunning family was wonderfully cast and acted. Sadie was great and her creepy perverted husband. I understand most changes, and actually liked the inclusion of Bill.

I have to say I was already a fan of James Franco so that was a win to me. Overall it was great especially the ending.

Probably too long a rant, I apologize.

Welcome to the Board! No need to apologize and I'm glad you and your wife enjoyed the miniseries. :smile2:

My one word review - Frustrating!

They handled every character wonderfully except - JAKE! :confusion:

But thank the stars they nailed the finale. Many nitpicks - and for me my qualms are nitpicks - can be forgiven if a story sticks the landing and boy did they! Just wish this Jake had been around in the previous 7 episodes.

I'll link my full review when it is posted in the next day or two if any one is interested in reading my full thoughts.

Sarah Gadon was luminous as Sadie. She lit up the screen!

I want to see a inside book about these boards.

Mr. Stephen King could do a scary horror/funny thing about message boards.
I'm sure it has crossed his mind.

Or not.

He doesn't need to do anything any longer after this 112263 (even though he will)... he has torn through the fabrics of space/time influencing and contributing way past his physical presence...if it was up to me I would award him the writer's golden ticket so he can see for himself
There is one word to describe this individual and the word is-- T I M E L E S S...literally.

James Franco, is that you?

Best ever? Come on. As a loyal SK reader and firm watcher of Bad Robot's projects, I'm a huge fan of both SK and JJ. But that's a strong claim to be best ever. Many of us too strongly compared the book and the show and nitpicked the differences. But just judging the series by itself, it was good but not great. In fact, if it wasn't for the last episode (which was pretty good) saving the show, this miniseries is good at best. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Now, as far as the book.....
