11.22.63 oulined in WOTC

So I was listening to my audio book at work and was blown away to hear Father Callahan and the Tet COMPLETELY outline 11.22 in their discussion. Part 2 Chapter 19 (? I think, it's an audio so...) anyhow, they were disucssing using Black 13 and the doorway like an arrow thru time then they go on talking about what would happen if they went back to the Kennedy Assasination and....

Soon I will check the writing dates (you know how King usually puts the dates of writing at the end of a book?) and see if King was writing these at the same time? Or is King just so darn good that he can forshadow a book that is not even written yet and include it in his Uber tale?

He wasn't writing 11/22/63 at the same time as that.

He had the idea for 11/22/63 in the 1970s -- the basic concept, at least -- but he felt it was too big and complicated to tackle at the time.

He wrote about the idea in the Marvel Spotlight giveaway comic that came out in 2007 before the first of the graphic novels adapting the Dark Tower series -- at that point he was considering it as an idea for a comic. You can find his quote from Spotlight here.

I remember noticing that as well. I read 11/22/63 before I read WOTC - so I was on heightened alert.

Me too, and I remember thinking "I wonder if this was the point he decided he was up to the task of writing 11/22/63, and doing all the research he mentions in 11/22/63's afterword?"

The Dark Tower books are constantly refrencing past books, so the idea that he "refrenced" what would become a future book was a strange moment, it made me smile though.
