I came upon a part where the main character states that the Tea-Party is linked to the Nazi flag (swastikas). I can not find ANY reference to this on the web... Is this just fiction? I read the whole Tea-Party Wikipedia page and it has no reference to Nazi, swastikas or any other hate group... Great book but why the Tea Party ref?

I don't remember this part of the book (and 11/22/63 is one of my favourite books) - Could you be more specific please? i.e. page number, etc. I would like to look it up.

Welcome to the SKMB, by the way!

I think the question is not about the book per se but whether that is actually something that happened, i.e. there are/were Tea Party links to Nazi flag (swastikas).

Please find them for me with the so-called LINKS... Not just pictures that could be from just about anything.

Yes, you will find swastikas at a Tea Party rally that happened in 2009. But here is the story behind it.

It involved a scuffle when members of the National Socialist Movement (Neo-Nazis) found themselves shut out of an anti-immigration Tea Party protest at the Phoenix capitol.

American Citizens United, who organized the Phoenix Tea Party rally, told the Neo-Nazi group that racist messages were not welcome at the demonstration. The Neo-Nazis left, but two returned, standing defiantly on the sidewalk that borders the designated protest area.

When JT Ready, one of the Neo-Nazis tried to unfurl an Adolf Hitler flag, one of the event organizers became enraged and tried to rip the flag from Ready's hands.

Yes, some Swastikas have appeared at other Tea Party events. They were on handmade signs reverting to the argumentum ad Hitlerum, comparing Obama or Harry Reid to Nazis. But if that is the 'link' you describe, ya'll are misleading your readers... BIG TIME!

I was a member of the Tea Party. Neo-Nazis were detested by the group! End Of Story!

Thank you for the warm welcome, I need to check out the book again to get the exact page number but the reference is there. If you google "11/22/63 Steven King tea party" you will find others who found the ref too. I loved this book as well but even though I was never a member of the Tea Party, I always thought they got a bad rap. The Tea Party seemed like a Conservative group trying to push Conservative ideas, they had the IRS targeting them, the media accusing them of being associated with EVERY hate group known to man and now this ref. which really bothered me. It made me think back to the original tea party. The rebels who started the fire known today as America. In my opinion, by associating our modern day tea party with you name the hate group, we indirectly associate the original tea party with the same hate group(s).
