I am a first time reader of the Dark Tower series and I just finished Wolves about 15 minutes ago. I have never read any other Stephen King books before (safe to say I will absolutely do so after completing this series).

Something very 19 happened to me as I finished Wolves. As I sat in a Starbucks reading the final 100 pages of the book, I decided it would add to the experience of the final battle scene if I popped in my earbuds and played "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" by Elton John on repeat. I had similarly listened to the drums only version of "Velcro Fly" by ZZ Top while I read about the ka-tet escaping Lud in Wastelands.

I enjoyed reading the battle against the wolves, paused the song, removed my ear buds and finished the novel. As I packed the book and everything else I had with me at Starbucks into my backpack, I reached for my phone. I was going to resume the song where I had left off, but before I could press play I heard it playing. My ear buds were not in my ear and my Spotify app was definitely paused. "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" by Elton John had started playing over the Starbucks speakers. I do not know if they are connected to a radio station or a playlist or what.

Needless to say, I was pretty rattled. Right after reading the passage about Pere Callahan calling into question whether or not he is a fictional character from a Stephen King novel I hear the song that mystically follows him around his semi-charmed vampire-hunting life. This coincidence was a little too similar to the mystical and meaningful coincidences experienced by the ka-tet in the series and especially this book.

So I guess I am writing this because it freaked me out and if I am indeed a fictional character invented by Stephen King as a part of this saga I want him to read this and let me know and I'll keep an eye out for any more ka coming my way. If it was a total coincidence it was a wild one.
