Welcome back, friends, to the 2016 SKMB October Horror Movie Marathon!

Here's how it works:
  • Watch scary/horror movies in October..whatever you think is horror is fine!
  • Talk about them here, or at least list the title
  • At the end of the month, we tally up how many horror movies you watched
  • 1-12 movies: Bangor Buddies
  • 13-18 movies: Tet-Mates
  • 19-30 movies: Horrorslingers
  • 31 movies or more: Ultimate Kings of Horror!
Even if you only watch one or two scary movies, this is a great thread for horror movie enthusiasts to share their finds and talk some horror! Won't you please come and play with us?

:big_smile:This is like real life? It is exactly like my usual October before I realized that watching the Hills Have Eyes, Vacancy, and House of 1000 Corpses repetitively in the presence of a young child might come back to haunt me. Oh well, what can I do with a teenager? Danny was three when we watched Stand by Me. He looked at me with these stoic, inquisitive eyes and asked "mom, why is the kid dead?" Little Alex would actually be traumatized; fear of the vacuum cleaner is a very real phobia which he bravely works to overcome every day.
In other words - I am a Derry native. I love this idea and good luck.

Im going to try. I did at least 1 movie a day for the last two years, but might not be able to manage this year. Regardless, it's a good time (and likely the reason that Netflix mainly recommends horror/thriller movies for me--lol) :)

Great to see so much enthusiasm for this in September! I normally wait to post this until a little closer to October but it seemed like it was the right time this year!
Yep, it's been a long summer for many and I think we're all ready for some distraction!

I'm in, and looking forward to it! Love seeing what other folks watch and reading the reviews.

Five more days to go!

I'm hoping that as October moves along we will see more and more movies to choose from

How about this one fushingfeef ?

I recorded it because Billy Connolly was in it (a Scottish actor) and thought Andy would get a kick out of it but alas he did not find it either funny or enjoyable - oh well - I thought it was quite good so if I watch it again I am definitely going to count it!

That one made me laugh! If someone can count Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil, Shaun of the Dead, etc., this should count :)

I queued up 4 Hammer Films on my netflix dvd list so I'll be going old school for the first few. I'm going to be home alone for a couple of weeks in October which is going to give me the opportunity to do some interior painting. I'm already plotting how I can arrange my living room work to avoid having the tv disconnected for too long while this marathon goes on. ;-D

I've been doing this marathon since 2011. I save my posts in this thread to a word document each year so I know what I've already seen. I'm missing 2012 for some reason but have the other 4 years. I usually manage around 20-24 movies each year so I'm developing a pretty long list. There are a few repeats - some you just have to watch more than once.
