It's that time of year! Welcome back to the 2018 SKMB October Horror Movie Marathon!

Here's how it works:
  • Watch scary/horror movies in October...whatever YOU think is horror (or scary) is fine!
  • Talk about them here, or at least list the title
  • At the end of the month, we tally up how many horror movies you watched
  • 1-12 movies: Bangor Buddies
  • 13-18 movies: Tet-Mates
  • 19-30 movies: Horrorslingers
  • 31 movies or more: Ultimate Kings of Horror!
Even if you only watch one or two scary movies, this is a great thread for horror movie enthusiasts to share their finds and talk some horror! Join us, we all FLOAT down here!

I need some recommendations, particularly anything 60s-early 80’s, if it helps some of my favorites are The Thing, Psycho, and American Werewolf in London. I enjoy movies with great practical effects like two mentioned above. I don’t mind if it’s cheesy or doesn’t hold up today as long as it’s enjoyable.

You're in the right place!

I've gotten a lot of good selections out of the Italian "giallo" horror movies of the 60's-80's, my favorites are from the 1970's, "Suspiria" in particular. "House By the Cemetery" is also a good one. If you like it more like a thriller/Hitchcock then "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" and "Deep Red" are good fun too.

Then you have the whole Hammer Horror Films collection to draw upon, with The Curse of Frankenstein being arguably the best of the bunch.

And of course, just about anything with Vincent Price!

For reference purposes, here are the previous years' threads...please do not post new messages to prior years' threads, or things could get confusing fast! But there are some great recommendations in these old threads so I thought it made sense to put them here:
2017 Horror Movie Marathon
2016 Horror Movie Marathon
2015 Horror Movie Marathon
2014 Horror Movie Marathon
2013 Horror Movie Marathon (migrated from old message board)
All those threads have been closed to further comment.

I'm in!! Cant wait. I'll be a slow starter this year though. I'm going away with the job on a conference. Home again the fourth.I'll doubt very much if my boss would appreciate me watching horrormovies instead of participating. (If i did that i would be the first victim in that horrormovie.....)
