7- Up Series

Has anyone been following this over the years? Michael Apted, the man behind the camera, is in his 70s now and we are due for the next installment I think in 2019. Are they filming? Does anyone know anything?

Friends who live across the pond, are you guys hearing anything about the series?

I highly recommend this if you are fascinated by human nature. Here is an article about the work. I only skimmed it so maybe it answers my above questions? When I have time, I'll read the whole thing. But for those of you who don't know about the show, or who might be intrigued, this should give you a nice little run down of what it's all about.

We stumbled upon the 42 release at the museum in Houston when it first came out and have kept up with it at 49 and 56, then went back and watched a couple of the earlier ones.

It's such an interesting look into the lives of these people. I am really excited to see the new one -- I ran into the first episode and from that point, I was hooked. I can't wait to hear the update of where they are now.

I've been keeping up with this documentary series on and off over the years, but I haven't seen every film. Maybe I should binge watch 'em to refresh my memory.
Definitely worth it to see how these kids have changed over the years. Not only physically, but also mentally. Their ideas, goals, beliefs have shifted in some of them as they have grown into adulthood.

It's fascinating anthropology in action.

I just watched the first episode - 7 Up 1964 - my goodness - how the world has changed since then - this is an interesting idea. You must subscribe to the Documentary channel?

I enjoyed the first episode a lot.

No, I don't subscribe to any Documentary channel. I find documentaries everywhere to watch.

This particular series I've been watching for years, so I saw all of them long ago, and I watched the last one 7 years ago on BBC or maybe PBS???? when it was newly released. Not sure what month in 2019 they plan on releasing the next one, but God willing and the creeks don't rise, I'll be there.

I started watching the second one but got interrupted a little while ago. You can find them all on YouTube.

Thanks for the YouTube tip! If anyone's interested, I also found a paid streaming channel called Brit Box that also shows the series but that'll cost you $6.99 a month.
Got up to 49 Up which was quite good. Once I tried to click on 56 Up the picture was scrambled so I gave up on it.

Actually, I did find a video of the 56 Up which I'm watching right now - I hope they do a 63 Up!
