So here I am, about to graduate with a BS for game development, part-way through book five of the Dark Tower series, looking forward to the movie/TV series starting next year, and wondering... Why isn't there a Dark Tower video game series yet? I know sai King hasn't really touched anything video game-related since that whole F13 thing back in 2000, but I feel like the Dark Tower multiverse is just such a rich environment for story-telling. I already have a few ideas of things I'd like to see in such a game.

For starters, I picture it in the third-person perspective with movement similar to GTA V, Red Dead Redemption, or the Witcher 3. It would also be pretty great to have a Billy-Bumbler companion that follows you around and occasionally helps you find useful items in the world. Combat.... That's where things would get difficult. How do you shoot with your mind using a controller or a keyboard and mouse? I feel like typical third-person shooting would only do it justice to a certain degree; there would have to be something special.

Story-wise, I really don't have any ideas beyond the vague "gathering the ka-tet for the big quest" kind of deal... Anyway, does anyone else feel like this could work? Any other ideas out there?

Video game rights are part of the film contract so they are the only ones legally authorized to develop one. We do have a Dark Tower based game on the site (Discordia) but it is in the process of being upgraded to current technology for mobile devices as well as desktops (ETA December) and have a second part in development that we hope to have ready soon after the upgraded version goes live.

There's an Rpg for the PS1 called "Wild Arms" it's not Dark Tower related but it has a similar fantasy/western style that has guns and magic

I never got around to playing that game but I've heard a lot of people say great things about it. I saw an easter egg for The Dark Tower in We Happy Few.
There are bushes called Rose of Gilead scattered throughout the land. I also saw an ad for Shell Beach, if you have ever seen the movie Dark City.

If there were a Dark Tower video game I'd like an open world like Skyrim. As for using mind powers there's been a few games that have managed to work it into the controls. A couple spring to mind.

I'd love a DT game done in the style of the SNES Final Fantasy games
