I've watched this movie numerous times over the years. I read the novella years ago. Here's a good question. How did Craig Toomy's father even know about the Langoliers? An idea for a sequel/ prequel. Could possibly turn it into a mini-series for Hulu or something. Make it both a remake/ prequel. Either way, his father was specific about the time eaters.

The original met with very mixed reviews and reception so I'd be surprised if a sequel or remake was green-lit, so saying most of the current batch of SK adaptations are hitting all the right notes with audiences so who knows, maybe somewhere down the line you'll get your wish :)

....welcome to the collective King Hug-A-Thon!....no answer to your query, other than it might have started out as a story fragment, but he had no desire to take it beyond the final length....
