I would like to thank him myself, so I hope he see this.

Dear Mr King,

Thank you for “The Eyes of The Dragon”. It’s one of my favorite books. And more than that.

I know this is not one of the most famous books of yours, or one of those that have made more success. It did not win adaptations for television or cinema, and many avid readers do not even know that this book exists. But why? Because it’s different from what you presented to us, but that don’t cause it to be less important. It's a fairy tale. And why is it different from other fairy tales around? Because it was written by a genius. It may not be a pretentious book, and even I can point it lacked narrated moments of Thomas's point of view like a king being manipulated by Flagg and how it destroyed the kingdom, or a more epic battle at the end, but it is an ambitious book. The fact of Flagg not be killed in the end - even worse, he fled - distance the tale of the obvious. Besides, it has nothing of "damsel in distress waiting to be rescued," quite the opposite - Naomi and Sasha, the two female major characters, have a strong personality and knew fend for themselves. And what there is to say about Peter, the perfect (and friend, dating, man) King, with his strengths and weaknesses?

I must say that kingdoms, magicians and dragons always fascinated me, and that your books have always had a special place in my heart. And now I found the best of both worlds in one book - with 28 years delay, unfortunately. I haven’t read yet The Dark Tower, but I heard that there are elements of “The Eyes of the Dragon” there. I can not wait to get started.

It had been a while since I would not start in a book and devoured it, as I did with this one. It had been a while since I would not give up Netflix to read, as I did to read it. I was already wondering where the good books were, until stumbling upon this.

Thank you for returning my love of literature.

Cordially,
Bárbara Henriques

I share your feelings. Eyes of the Dragon was the second SK book I ever read and I absolutely fell in love with his world. I would highly recommend The Dark Tower books as they definitely tie in with Eyes of the Dragon. Not only that but if you loved that world with the kingdoms and magicians, I think you will definitely love the worlds of the Dark Tower. Just be prepared for a vast and wondrous journey like no other :)
