I'm on page 250, and there's a name that's leapt out at me. Dan is talking to Billy and John and trying to persuade them to come away with him. He tells John he has one appointment with a patient which he feels he can't palm off on anyone else, and the patients name is Frederika Bimmel...

Where on earth have I heard that name before? I keep wanting to say Silence of The Lambs for some reason. Can anyone help me out? Thank you. Crumbs I'm enjoying this book so so much.

Is it ironic, coincidental or on purpose that one of Dr. John's patients is named Frederika Bimmel, the same name as the first victim in Thomas Haarris' book Silence of the Lambs? A homage to the killer or the author perhaps?

I merged your post with this thread as they are on the same topic. I would say it's an homage to the author.

I remember SK slamming Thomas Harris in 'On Writing' for not writing enough. Strange to see this little homage. Red Dragon & TSOTL were masterpieces but Hannibal was downright putrid. I hope Harris makes up for it.
