Hello!

A couple of weeks ago I had the chance of checking the University of Maine's yearbook for 66-67. I didn't find Stephen King, but I came across the attached picture. His name was Richie Tozier and was the Station Manager of the Maine Campus Radio Station.

Wonder if King met him and had him in mind when creating the character.

Steve was a freshman in the 66-67 school year so I don't know if he knew him then but he knows Rich (that's what he goes by these days and is a host of a jazz show on Maine Public Radio) Tozier now. Whether he just used the name without any of his personality traits when creating the character for IT, I don't know. I'd ask but Steve is out straight working on the scripts and pre-production for LISEY'S STORY.

....understood on the hectic schedule, but I'd say that's no coincidence regarding the name....what are the odds of just coughing that up without some familiarity?.... :biggrin2:

I recall looking at the metadata in a Simpsons dvd episode guide and there was a writer named Penny Wise, or something along those lines
