A silly question, but...

Where does this take place? I've read it multiple times, both in serial and omnibus form, and it's never really said exactly where it is. I figure that's deliberate. I know the movie was in Louisiana, but there is a line in the book from Brutus where he talks about losing his job and having to "go down to Louisiana" to find work; that kind of says they aren't in Louisiana.

Anyone know if the book definitively says where it takes place, and what that reference is?

I always thought it was Louisiana because King speaks of parishes instead of counties. Louisiana is the only state that does this. I need to double check this.
(It appears that my memory is wrong. No use of the word parish. This is the perfect example of someone's memory of what they think happened and what actually happened.)

Another silly question I thought might go well here: did anybody else notice the "you're thinking about his car, aren't you? Dolan's car..." section? Any chance that car is a cadillac? I don't remember reading in the book.

Yes, because that way he doesn't have to be quite as careful with the details and have someone call him out on it if he made a mistake. :smile2:

wonderful masterpeice set in and around Louisiana.
