I’ve been a fan of Stephen Kinf since I read The Shining in 1977. When I read Rose Madder, while in an abusive relationship, I wept. Stephen King’s writing, from a woman’s perspective is astounding. Where does this come from?
I’m watching “The Dark Tower” and already identify with Jake.
I also see all of his villains appearing in plain sight.

Welcome to SKMB - I think his wife Tabitha had been doing some work in a women's shelter back then - maybe that got him thinking

By the way I really enjoyed the book Rose Madder too (even the fantasy parts)
