well

lucky enough for me I don't think I'll be going anywhere anytime soon :p I've been trying to talk about the books I've read with Hubbs, and just sound like a babbling idiot trying to explain these complex story lines and characters and crazy connections throughout the stories. and I'm glad to have found somewhere like this!! although I was dubbed a noob but that I will take xD

I've only been here for a little over a year, so I am a noob too compared to some of the founding members. No offense intended.;-D
Just be careful not to expect anyone else to understand anything you tell them about this board. You'll have friends thinking that SK is coming out with some new book called The Thread.(I speak from a place of experience)

We took this the other night in Exeter after the Hill/Youers interview. That is Romeo's Pizza, where Kevin worked during college. (We were dorm mates at UNH)

Andryia, I've just merged your other Newbie thread with this existing one and I think I'll move over the posts from the King Kong 2018 thread too so as not to confuse people interested in attending that event.
(don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of posting into threads and where to find things  )
You are awesome, Flake!
What is your favorite book, Andryia?

Well, I have only read two Stephen King books so far after finding out my mother in law has an entire bookshelf full of his novels. my favorite book in general is a novel called Sheer Abandon, by Penny Vincenzi, but definitely Lisey's Story is now my favorite book. I'm fighting myself not to read it again already!

Hi and welcome. Eager to read your thoughts on all the books you are reading. Lisey's Story is a favorite. Thus far you are picked some of his best books. Be aware, Stephen King has a way with his characters. You will one with them.
Oh I have already discovered that after just two books!! genuinely cried at the end of Lisey's Story and felt like I Finished binge-watching a tv show after finishing the girl who loved Tom Gordon.

I loved Lisey's story. If you are fascinated by King and would like some insight into his mind and life, I suggest On Writing. If you don't mind a longer read, try The Stand.

I loved it what I'm convinced is too much. I can relate so much to both Lisey and Scott and can't quite figure out why but it just consumed my life the whole time I was reading it. I talked about it like a movie, like anyone understood what I was saying :p I have been looking online at 'on writing' I absolutely love to write. this page is inspiring me to start an anonymous blog although I doubt it would be read much lol.

....good picture of you and your fella there young noob.....(and I am definitely kidding now about the "noob" thing, you are a welcome addition to our membership)....
oh well thanks :) my honey and I going on 5 years. he is very supportive of my new found obsession. I jokingly asked him if he was down for a trip to Maine, we are in California so it's a bit of a trip, he was all for it! so I'll be scouring that King Kon section for the time being, hoping we can make the trip that would be so incredible. Both the books I've read were set in Maine, as well as I've seen so many of his books take place there I have this sense of GO SEE IT ALL lol. again thanks for the welcoming everyone. I think I'm going to love this page indefinitely

I know exactly what you mean about Lisey's Story; it was probably those moments, like the one on the garden, that we may have experienced but been unable articulate in such a perfrct way.
On Writing is only half about writing, the other half is autobiographical: his story in his words (listen to the audio book for a real thrill, he narrates it!).
If you want to write, write! Go for it! Start a Wordpress blog and have fun! If you are shy, use a pen name (like Richard Bachman,SKs other name).

Behind you
You have not met Nadine and Larry yet. (The Stand)

Try the short stories.

Want to get really swept away? For years after and change your life? - and the way you talk?

You can read the first book after. (Gunslinger) Spideyman knows. Life changing. I never read them till I came here, and I did not have the agonizing wait that most have. Years between books. Don't know how you guys did it, Tet.

hmmmm audio book. I do have a two hour round trip work commute. that might be a really good fit. And I just might take up writing! Not so much fiction vs non fiction just I love to write about my opinions and life and things of that nature! my favorite college English professor once told me I write in a way that demands attention.. I was flattered to say the least and have been contemplating doing at least SOME kind of writing since. You guys are all so great! Thanks for the advice!

oooo. sounds very intriguing. I wanted to start a new one last night but alas... The indicicive human I am couldn't pick one. I'm over thinking the commitment of picking up a new book so I wana be sure I'm picking a winner although I've yet to see 100% bad reviews on any of his Novels.

....many circles of the earth around the Sun ago, I kept seeing in the "previous titles" section of King's work-something called The Gunslinger and how there was no way to ever get a copy of it-unless you won the lottery.....imagine my sheer delight when they finally made that sucker available to the great unwashed hordes and I was able to start my journey across the desert....
