There is a very good documentary on Adam West and his career that was playing on cable a while back called "Starring Adam West." Even if you are not a fan or have no clue who he was it was fascinating to see how he came to terms with "Batman" - a role that effective ended his career for many decades - and later in life came to embrace it.

Whew. Someone at work told me, and I'm okay. But the five year old in me is wrecked.

The best tweet I've seen

All the other Batmen should go to Adam West's funeral, like when a former president dies.

Tallest Batman. Clocked in more Batman hours than any Batman ever has, or ever will. Coolest Batman -- his Bruce Wayne wore a blazer with a family crest! Wore the only costume that even vaguely resembled Batman in the comics of his era. Only film Batman to actually use a batarang! Ever. Only Batman you'd trust around your kids. Most handsome Batman!

When I think Dr. Who, Tom Baker will always be the first Doctor I think of. Nimoy the first Spock. West will always be the first Batman.

"Are you from Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see."

Have you ever seen the Batman serial from 1943?

A few hours after the news breaks, and CNN is back to covering Trump like nothing happened. Sometimes, the networks absolutely tick me off to no end. Seriously, Adam West dies, and they just give him a passing mention. Sickening.

I wouldn't be too concerned with that. If there was an asteroid minutes away from destroying all life as we know it, CNN would not interrupt its endless Trump barrage. My favorite recent Anderson Cooper story was that "unnamed sources" report Trump had put on weight, was "unhappy" and did not like to travel. LOL. The flip side was the fixation with celebrity deaths like Michael Jackson when news helicopters followed the transport of his body to the morgue. Sometimes less is better or it becomes a macabre spectacle.
