Hello everybody!
The title of this thread is a little long, but with a good cause.
Let's start from the beginning, as they say.

I'm Alessandro from Rome, 52, King fan since 1987... first novel was The Tommyknockers, and I didn't like it... I need to re-read it, but I can't find time. But I was hooked, because I feel the magic in Stephen's words.
In 2000 circa I read On writing (I already read every single novel by King, at that point), because I always loved to write, at school it was my favourite with math.
I wrote 7 novels since then, using Stephen's suggestions, and the first to be published was a tip of the hat to Mr. King.
I took his idea from On writing, the one with a man who is bullyed by her wife, and I wrote a short story. Then I took that story and made up a novel, that is to this day one of the favourite things I did writing.
The question (and the good cause of the beginning) is: could I use that idea for a novel (I think so) and put on it the "thanks to SK"? And if the novel become a movie, things will change?

Thank you for answering :)
Alex

Steve has given permission to other writers to use their interpretation of the story idea exercise in On Writing for submission for publication, so that would be fine. Any movie would be an adaptation of your writing, not his, so I don't foresee any problem with that either.

Best of luck!

Hi Allesandro, Welcome to the board and make sure you let us know where we can have a look at the book once it comes down the pipe. All the best, mal

Thank you!
I'm Italian, so the book will not be available in English, at least if I don't find a publisher that pays for the translation ;)

Thank you!
In Italian we say Benvenuto for Welcome (is literally the same thing, as bene is well and venuto is come), but we answer with Bentrovato, that is something like Welfound... what is the correct answer in English?
