At the time it was done CGI was still a fairly new thing and I didn't perceive the effects as cheesy, after all, not everyone can get Industrial Light and Magic on board for their film projects, and it was true to the story, not wandering off in various directions that have nothing to do with what was written on the page... not that differences can't be inspired, but, The Shining notwithstanding, I like adaptions to be as faithful to the original story as possible..

(holy sheep that was a single sentence!)

Yes you are bad - go directly to your room and no supper for you!

Haha - you know I am just pulling your leg @Ebdim9th
I have only read the book and not seen the movie, so I don't know. I wonder if The Langoliers is available on Youtube now? :tennis:

I like the movie too. Some of the casting was a bit iffy, but I watch it almost every year if I catch it in the TV listings as the story line is great. The problem I have with the movies made from King’s writings, is that I read some of the novels so very long ago that the movie becomes the psyche over the written work.

Nah. It was okay for a TV movie--at least it stuck to the story fairly well. Some of the acting was... not too great... (being nice today--lol), but it worked all in all. My husband (a non- SK reader) liked it a lot & has watched it several times.
