Am I the only one on this thread who actually enjoyed this movie? Anyone else?

Can we just take a moment to appreciate how incredible this scene is?
I am looking forward to seeing this film.

(I never expect a screen adaption to ever be as great as the novels. I just hope for the best. I think it is rather unreasonable to expect that much. Very few films can ever come close to a true and thorough representation of these great stories. The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption are two of the finest, that do get very close.)

I would also add The MIst to that.

I get the idea the pilot episoce of the series was actually filmed. The credits on IMDb are complete, including the locations.

I hope something will turn up from it eventually.

There's still a chance another company than Amazon will take it over, but it's not very likely.

Didn't know there were set photos. Here are set photos!

It looks absolutely great, I think.

When this film first come out, I hummed and harred about seeing it, as reviewers slammed it and had only read the first 4 books. Anyhow went and saw it and was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it, could of been because there was only one other person in the theater or had not read the full series. But have seen it several times since and still enjoy it.

It is actually quite good if you can remove it from the books. Not every adaption has to be verbatim. As a blockbuster version of TDT, it is actually very good. Even Stephen himself liked it.

I still like it for itself. we all know that there could have been some more explaining to be done. (e.g. the dropping of the term "beamquake" and no explanation) but overall I was very pleased with the acting of Idris Elba and especially Tom Taylor who was great as Jake. Did expect more of his Mum. Maybe it was just me, but the character was my least favourite, even behind the baddies.

It was an absolute total waste of time and energy, imo. I did like Idris Elba, but DT fans wanted what was written, not some sequel that wasn't.
