That felt like I was half in Duma Key throughout the Joyland story?? Also it resonated with Bag of Bones as well?
Perhaps it was just the related aspects. - the beach/beach walks.... the big old house down the beach, and the mother with the child......or maybe I've read too many SK books in a row and they're merging in my brain hah

Nope, I definitely felt the Duma Key vibe in that story. I kept waiting for the main character to come across Wireman on the beach somewhere...and that would have been awesome:)
...considering his fate, it sure as hell WOULD have been awesome:snowman:....and I think each King story, blends thematic details that resonate with each Constant Reader in their own individual way...that, or I'm just full of Yak poop....

I'be yet to read Duma Key, so I myself didn't see that connection. What I did notice, however, was Mike mentioning that his televangelist grandfather had a table with a great electric train set. As soon as I read that, I instantly thought of Revival heh. I know King's said that he always had the idea for Revival in the back of his mind, but I do wonder if that little basement model had its genesis take part in that one paragraph here in Joyland.
