Where to begin when what you’re really writing about is the end? We hear the words “end of an era” but I didn’t think I’d ever have the opportunity to actually use them for something in my own life yet here we are, the end of an era for the SKMB. I’ve been a bit quiet the past couple of weeks, partly because I had things I had to get done off the Board, but mostly because this has been so much harder for me than I was expecting. Saying goodbye has never been my strong suit and this one is especially hard.
I’ve decided I’m not going to single out any individual members because I’m afraid I’d forget someone (CRSS is a thing) and would feel terrible if I accidentally hurt someone’s feelings with an omission and no way to make up for it later. You’ve all been incredible each in your own way. I’ll leave it to each of you to figure out if that’s a good or a bad thing.
I will truly miss having the opportunity to share your lives, the laughs, the tears, the support that has been such a huge part of this community. My life has been blessed and I am so grateful to have had you be a part of that.
Here we are at the goodbye part. Big sigh and lump in my throat. May you all be happy and healthy and live lives that are fulfilling in the best ways possible. We have been well met.
