Author of the Inspector Montalbano novels has died at 93. These are an outstanding detective series filled with humor and great characters. Many have been translated to English and there are several more left to go.

Anyone interested in his books should start with "The Shape of Water" the first in his Montalbano series. The first paragraph always made me laugh. Interesting article about him in the Guardian.
