No, separatists, as you called them, haven't such weapon systems. But the Ukrainian army has.

The ukrainian operator directed him there. All the flights above Ukraine are correcting by Ukrainian operators.

P.S. Lost of innocent people died that's true. But think about the civilian innocent people in Donetsk and Lugansk who died under shellings and bombardings of the ukrainian army. Right now in this moment the innocent women, men, oldmem and children die by the bombs of ukrainian army. Who would count them? Yesterday 15 people were killed and 53 wounded during the shelling of Lugansk.

President Obama said that there was one American on board that airliner, not 23, as previously thought...

@ asoul, we might just try to keep this from becoming personal please. There are going to be differences of opinion, but we need to remain respectful of each other.

Flake is right, let's not make it a personal issue. Especially, no one is to blame just because his country's authorities made something wrong. A lot of people died in other countries due to the USA authorities, for example. But that does not make people from the USA bad. Well, you know what I mean...

And I am just sorry that people from different countries receive different information. If you only could read Russian forums and social networks, you would see how all the people in Russia feel awful about this situation and wish it were over soon. Apart from Ukranian people, who write in their forums "Russians are bad" and forbid computers with Russian ip-addresses enter there. And still those Ukranians who run from the war come here to us, and we accept them and offer them jobs and different charity organizations collect clothes and things for these people. I'm not talking about plane crush now, I am just telling that people should remain human in all this situation and not make personal issues out of it.

How about Maidan? Do you think this is it normal that all those people are still there? One of the beautiest squares of Europe looks like Junktown now, it's pity sight.

May be, is it because of the Maidan coup? Look at this - from Maidan coup starts this civil war in Ukraine...

    It's pretty awful.

After two Ukrainian planes get shot down, and the Russian missile that did this comes from a rebel-controlled section, saying it was a Ukrainian missile is simply demonstrating a knee-jerk propaganda response.

And speaking of propaganda, this thread is about to turn into another such fest, if it hasn't already, and at least for me, that's a lob-and-volley game that's not particularly fun.

All condolences to the families and friends. Just awful.

Grandfa, it's more than two Ukrainian planes were shot down by the rebels. It's about ten ones - they were military and they're all shot down in the lower height than this Boing. They're all military, don't you think it stange? You see, those guys always shot down the military ukrainian planes and now (why, the hell?) thought to shoot down this civil plane? And who's said that this missile was russian? May be you have the prooves of it? I'd like to see it.

Let us remember the 298 who perished. One candle for each!

Yeah, lets remember them first and foremost. Cant me make this thread a place to remember instead of hurling accusations in different directions? That seems unworthy i think. Later, in another thread perhaps, and when the investigations are done or well under way we may have some more facts that perhaps point in some direction. But for now... Peace.
