Back in the mid 1980s, one of the best sources to know what particular books were available from a particular author was a reference book titled "Books in Print". I had access to, and have since purchased a copy of the 1984-85 edition:

Here's the Stephen King section:13 SK page.jpg
Notice the first title which is "Another Quarter Mile". Knowing Mr. King had written poetry, I looked for this book in the poetry section of every used book store, in flea markets, thrift stores and "antique" shops with no luck. Towards the end of the 1990s I quit actively looking for it. Then around about 2008 I got to thinking about this title again and asked my friend Google and sure enough ABEbooks had one:

There is an author's picture on the jacket which resembles Mr. King about as well as the picture of Richard Bachman does. I've pretty much concluded that this book is by a Stephen King, but not the Stephen King. However, I'd really like to know for sure and am wonder if anyone here has knowledge of this book or can categorically state yea or nay about the author.

Thanks.

Mr. Bev Vincent, I realized that I didn't have any signed books by you in my collection, but I now will sometime shortly after Sept. 4th, 2018.

At the risk of hijacking my own thread, but along the same lines, in the July 1983 (page 90), and September 1981 (page 15) issues of National Lampoon magazine there are blurbs attributed to Stephen King. Are these bogus, or did he really provide them to the magazine?
