I love books and I love collecting books. Anyone know of good website to find used books or rare special edition books?
There are so many. Abe Books, Powell's, Ebay, Thrift Books, and the list goes on.

I'm not hardcore about collecting like I used to be but have rekindled my interest in finding King books and will try to find first editions if a particular book holds meaning for me. I'd like to eventually find a first edition of Misery. It was my introduction to King.
I have a decent collection of Southern Literature and, overall, own around 400 books. Not that many, really. I'll be whittling down my inventory even more this summer and I'll make room for new acquisitions. I'll occasionally read a book on the tablet, usually a classic which can be found for free online.

I've got about 2000 books. When I was younger, once I read a book, I used to give it to the Salvation Army or St Vincent's de Paul. I still got my Stephen King books that I bought in the 1980's, though. (I think I bought my first King book in 1979 or early 1980) I got so much stuff I haven't read that I'll need to live till I'm 170 years old to finish them. I like going through stuff and going, 'Oh, I remember I bought that at the bookstore in Kensington/Kingsford in Sydney in 1988- Penguin book of Vampire stories that I came across in a box)

Welcome! As mentioned above, there are a lot of places out there where you can find books. If you're looking for King books, try bettsbooks.com The owner David is a stand up guy and he will treat you right. I have been able to find quite a few rare titles on thriftbooks.com Some of them are limited editions (not King titles!) that were sold or donated to libraries and then discarded after a few years. Some of those have arrived in 'like new' condition! They have free shipping for orders over $10 but you will pay tax. Powell's books located in Oregon is another good place to try. I myself love to peruse used book stores and thrift stores. I once found at a Goodwill in a very small town north of Seattle a beautiful unread hardback 1st printing SIGNED copy of Insomnia by King! Paid $1.99 for it! I have always wondered how that book arrived at that particular Goodwill. You just never know what treasures you'll find.

There are a lot of elderly people in my town who do these collective garage sale type things. I can usually find lots of books for about 25 cents to a dollar a piece in very good condition. And I love Half Priced Books. There's something about spending hours in a bookstore surrounded by the smell of books that's just irreplaceable. And there's usually pretty good deals, too! :m_applause::m_adore:
