I see that I am unable to post in the U.S. Politics thread. I'm not sure why this is because I would never personally insult anyone, particularly on this board, but as you could see from my post, I have strong feelings on #45.

I am unable to answer people on that thread but I would like to offer apologies to anyone I may have offended but at the same time, I don't apologize for my post itself because I told the truth about #45 and I don't believe I disrespected anyone BUT him. But if I did, I am truly sorry.

I'm going to check out for a bit and work on some writing. This place has been very welcoming to me since my return. I just wanted to say I'm sorry. I would never intentionally hurt anyone.

Oh, okay--I'm so glad. I had seen other people posting there and thought I was the only one who couldn't. But I can understand if my post pissed people off. I do tend to get angry when speaking about #45 but I also want to say that I respect the views of all people here--and what I said may have made it seem that I did not.

Thank you all. I'm glad I asked for messages to this thread to be delivered to my inbox or I wouldn't have seen this!

I wish more people had your sense of humility (even if in this case it is completely unnecessary).

This world would be in a much better place.

(I'm assuming you're referring to the Politics thread. I read it, but I've only posted in it once.)

you may not have noticed, but there are far more people here share your thoughts on the matter, than there are that don't. they decided to close them for certain periods of time because it would tend to get a little heated in off hours.

If you are afraid of offending people then do not post in hot topics. Everyone has an opinion, not all agree. If you do post, then just say what you believe and defend it, if necessary, regardless of the blowback. Some folks will go way out of their way to be offended. I lurk in the hot topics area from time to time and I've found that, for the most part, it's mostly debate and opinion and very little anger. Myself, I've got the apolitical blues but I'll leave with this...I think Donald Trump won the election because folks were tired of the status quo where nothing ever changed and there seemed to be no progress, whether a Democrat or a Republican was at the helm. Maximizing profits and finding new ways to extract capital seems to be the roadblock we've hit as a society. We have to get back to the basics and stop fooling ourselves that the latest pick of several cell phones on the market is really important, as the news coverage would lead us to believe...unless the reports and news are all geared to shareholders (the few) and not society in general (the many). Oh...SpongeBob Squarepants is on...gotta run!

I know that you and I disagree on lots of things, but PLEASE do not stop posting. I find you to be an honorable opponent who deserves to be heard.

Thank you so much. I have a feeling I should probably read but not post in that thread myself. There are other forums where I can piss people off with my views! :)

I can see that now--but I get so heated when it comes to this particular subject that I should probably not share my own views. There are other forums for that and I want to talk about SK here. I don't want to argue with people. But thank you so much.

Wow, John--thank you so much! I sure try to be respectful of people as I hope people respect my views. I have never felt you disrespected me and your reply here means much to me.
