I've been watching Mom and baby a little this morning and it seems like every time baby latches on to feed, Mom walks away. I hope she/he is getting enough colostrum! (and milk might not come on if feeding isn't established properly soon)

Has there been any news as to whether we have a boy or girl calf?

Gosh, I wish mom would lay down and rest. Do they?

The weight of the newborn is unknown, but a calf at birth is usually about 6 feet tall and weighs a whopping 100 to 150 pounds
I have seen April lying down at different times before she went into labour, maybe she's just moving around at present to help with circulation after birth? (maybe clots/stroke could be an issue in a animal so large after birthing? I don't know...)
