Thanks for the warm welcome! I am very excited to find this message board! Thanks for the quick opinion! I never buy autographed 1st additions, but I bought this one because I just fell in love with it. I know you never know....but, oh well hopefully my experience in music autograph collections has helped me make a wise decision here. Unfortunately I missed Mr. Kings show here in Nashville in June of last year, but will be looking for future opportunities to meet him!

...we are glad you've made it....my two signed books were by way of an appearance event and the other that is personal to me came straight from an unimpeachable source....look up booksellers in Bangor, Maine and that will show you a couple of the best for verified works....

It looks authentic although I can't say with 100% certainty. Do you know where this was supposedly signed?

I am waiting for a response back from seller. I do have the opportunity to return as well. I did email a picture of the autograph to a autograph authentication company, and their response was that it was authentic. I'll let you know when I hear back from seller.

It's been my experience over the years that a certificate of authenticity isn't worth the paper it's printed on in many cases. I've seen obvious fakes that have been given a thumbs up. But in fairness, there have been times when I wasn't sure and would have said it was a fake but Steve verified that it was his signature.

I hear ya, I didn't order the certificate but I did pay 20.00 to have them take a close look at it. How about you get the pic to Steve for me and let him verify it for me! LOL

The best way to get a SK signature is either thru reputable publishers or dealers like Bett's Books, Gerald Winters, Very Fine Books, Cemetery Dance, Subterranean Press; or in person signings/events; or signed limited editions.

A great resource for signed book/collectible information and buy/sell/trade is over at The Dark Tower forums.

Those places are a rip-off. Don't waste your money - that is their bread and butter. If they said it wasn't authentic, they wouldn't have any business.
Ha! I just got a response back from another company that didn't charge me anything. They said it was a "horrible fake" Then I sent them a pic of my mothers Elvis Presley autograph that I have, and know is real. Just to see if they said it was fake. They then said my Elvis autograph was genuine and really nice. So maybe this guy got it right. LOL

I would even contact the first company for your money back. Any decent company wouldn't charge for an opinion unless they were issuing a certificate.
