It took them nearly 70 years to realize there were references to roofing drinks
I think they used to call it 'slipping a mickey'. I always took that line to mean that he poured her a strong drink. I don't believe he was trying to drug her and then have his way with her. I don't know the author. If it was Bill Cosby then I'm wrong in my assessment. :flustered:

You’re right, it could either or. Considering the recent Cosby sentencing and the #metoo movement it seems more people are in the mindset to take it as a roofie reference.

I always here Baby It’s Cold Outside as a young woman trying to justify what she wants to do (stay with him). She keeps questioning what people will say.

My favourite version.

My second favourite version is from ELF. And it’s the only thing in that movie that is bearable.

2000's: I'M OFFENDED!

Did you see PETA want people to stop using phrases like "Bringing home the bacon"?
Well, I for one like to bring home the bacon.....and fry it up right there in the pan :biggrin2:
Hope you're not offending any people who identify as pans!

Some other gems from the report:

Say bring home the bagels instead of bacon.
Feed two birds with one scone instead of kill two birds with one stone.

Much better.

Hubby mentioned this to me yesterday. My response:

How 'bout I kill two birds with one stone, wrap them up in bacon, bring them home, then fry them up in a pan? How 'bout that, PETA? :D
