Gerald Winters and Son is a new King centric bookstore run by a long time collector and fan.
I've been in there a few times and bought a few things. Gerald has some amazing items, some for display only and not for sale. For instance he has the first two manuscripts for The Napkins(everyone should know what that turned into!)that also contains some original sketches which eventually became the EOTD S/L
A collector in Japan bought an asbestos Firestarter and is letting him hold on to it to show people. I had never seen one in person. He recently added some of the original airplane seats from The Langoliers.
It's exciting to have a brick and mortar bookstore specializing in signed and rare items not mention just going in and having a chat with a fellow King fan.
This NEEDS to be a stop on the King Kon 2018 tour for you folks coming from out of town!

...if y'all feel up to it-propose a shindig, he may be interested in hosting an event for our group in 2018....business for him and a gathering spot for us....
He is so easygoing and amiable I bet he would love this idea! The next time I stop by to visit I will talk to him about it. I imagine he would love to meet everybody from this board that comes up.
So will I :)

Even though we're a couple of years out I can't wait! I will be happy to help in any way that I can but I will also stay out of your way so as not to impose. This is totally your show Scott but anything you need (since I live here) I'll do my best to get done!

...bah!....you are certainly not imposing....I always need a local contact and Marsha is terrific, but for some reason-she can be awfully busy:biggrin2:...and it's never my show, it's for all who can make it...I just try to make things happen so we all have fun....

Yes! I was out Christmas shopping Friday and went in. I spoke with Gerald for a bit, and he showed me the wonderful things in his store. He is such a warm, nice, and fascinating man, and I can see myself going in every chance I get, just to shoot the breeze. I bought a copy of Charlie the Choo-Choo (I really wanted a Barlow t-shirt for Christmas, but my hinting wasn't good enough), and checked out the awesome IT and Green Mile displays in his window and airplane seats from The Langoliers. He also showed me the ultra-rare asbestos edition of Firestarter (I also got pictures, as I never thought I'd see one in person).

I told him about my experience eating in the real Dixie Boy in the early '90s while driving from FL to NY, and how my uncle was Steve's pilot when filming the Firestarter movie.

Loved the experience, and I hope that his place prospers.

....I hope his place does big biz....not many these places exist anymore, and I miss the brick & mortar small town bookseller....it will be a pleasure to see him in 2018 when the GNT comes to Maine again....

Yeah, so was Leland Gaunt. Caveat Emptor!

You've been here before Doc Creed. When I started out I was just a peddler moving across the blind face of a distant land. Moving, always moving. Always gone... and in the end I'd always offer weapons. And they'd always take them. Of course I was gone before they realized what they'd purchased.
