So my wife and I are finally under contract to purchase a home in Bangor! Cue the balloons! Every once and a while groups of people get together from this site to go to a King location (like the Overlook location, etc.). It is our intention to get our new place, upon closing, setup to host visitors and perhaps get a mini-gathering/convention going for kicks. So if anyone has any plans or ideas about such a convergence, we would love to talk about the season in which it should take place and so on.

Well there is a big back yard which falls into the Barrens... but there is enough square footage inside that I don't think we will have to have anyone risking the Clown.

In all seriousness, the new place is 3600 square feet. In a year's time we will have it remodeled and have ample space to host a big get-together and put up people. The building has its own stage, and a massive main room. It is our intention to put in built in book shelves along the long walls to give it that extra special something for book lovers like us (that and we just have so many books it is kind of mandatory). I know we are thinking ahead to this 2018, but I will be working toward organizing activities and planning something special for all that want (and can) come. I know this is way in advance, but if we are going to do something, we might as well do it right. Hrm... I wonder if every other shelf could also be a hidden Murphy Bed. Now that is an idea in case turnout is higher than expected.

My house is neither big nor fancy so I wouldn't be able to put anyone up except on a couch but I do have an in ground pool so I say we add a pool party to the list of events! The pool, deck, and tiki bar take up most of the backyard but I think we could fit you fine folks in

Hey! Are you guys going to Bangorefest? The Christine wedding? We will be up there for the Fri.Sat.And Sun. the weekend before Halloween! I have been harassing my friends into doing the zombie walk on Saturday.So far.....one has caved in and my husband finally gave in(ha!).A friend I met here on the boards is still holding out but I will continue to harass her. It would be great to say hello if you guys are going to be attending any of the events!

Ms. Mod....I still have not learned to tag.Any interest in joining us for the zombie walk on Saturday? We have a ton of supplies so there is plenty of makeup to go around! We have not firmed up our supper meeting yet but it would be great if you could join us..........unless you are opposed to eating with a bunch of people dressed like zombies

I'll skip the zombie walk and don't plan to be attending Bangorefest but let me know when/where you're having dinner and I'll try to meet you there. It'll be like that Twilight Zone episode where the person who sticks out is the one who is "normal".

To tag someone just type @ and the user name of the person you want to tag--no space after the @. Unless you have pop-ups blocked, you should see a list of names that match and you can either select from there or just continue typing the user name in full and that should tag them.
