....we have lost America's Grandma.....I do hope she'll be laid to rest with her ever-present pearls....she was one of the brightest of the Busch's "Points of Light".....

This is a beautiful picture. I have been upset, thinking about how heartbroken President Bush must be, losing his partner of 73 years. But I read this earlier today, a statement put out by his spokesperson...

“I always knew Barbara was the most beloved woman in the world, and in fact I used to tease her that I had a complex about that fact,” Bush said in the statement. “But the truth is the outpouring of love and friendship being directed at The Enforcer is lifting us all up. We have faith she is in heaven, and we know life will go on — as she would have it. So cross the Bushes off your worry list.”

That made me feel better.

RIP, Mrs. Bush.

Not trying to be morbid at all...but I'm betting that GHWBush will be joining her in the not to distant future.

...my wife and I said the same thing.....

That is so common in long marriages. My grandmother took care of my grandfather for 15 years with diabetes related illness and a colonoscopy, etc. and she was so strong, just always kept busy and going. When he passed, she just sort of crumbled. We lost her within a year of his passing.
