In everyone's personal opinion what is the best book in each period of King for you?

So for example

Best King book of the 70s?

Best of the 80s?

Best of the 90s?

Best of the 2000s?

Best of the 2010s?

Tower books and other series (like Mercedes trilogy) books are allowed but you can only pick one if it fits into the right era.

Bachman books are a allowed to.

No collections of novellas or short stories, we are gonna keep to the full-length features.

70s - Salem's Lot
80s - IT
90s - The Stand (complete and uncut)
00s - Duma Key
10s - Doctor Sleep

I deliberately leave out choosing any of the Tower books because I think of it as a complete series, like Lord of The Rings, so it's hard for me to pick a favourite volume.

Maybe we could do a similar thread for the books we like least?

'70s-The Stand (original) Changed apocalyptic fiction--shades of this story are in every dystopia I can think of

'80s-IT Terrified my generation and is still terrifying kids. Absolute cultural touchstone--EVERYONE knows Pennywise (though many just refer to him as "It."

'90s-The Green Mile Tender, violent, and epic. TGM redefined the way relatively recent American historical fiction is written by putting humans back into the mix--good and bad--and not being afraid to make them multi-layered. I can go on and on about the cultural and literary ramifications of this book.

'00s-Lisey's Story Mr. King's masterpiece. His most 'literary' novel. He does some incredible things with time jumps in the narrative that are fantastically difficult to pull off successfully.

'10s-Joyland-Surprised me into tears, and I'm not talking a sniffle. We're talking full blown sobs. I had to put the book down for a few hours to process and get rid of the tear headache. So few books can do that, and none has ever caught me so by surprise. That's literary masterwork.

Would you mind changing the title to best and least best book from each decade?

And where it says....

Best King book of the 70s?

Best of the 80s?

Best of the 90s?

Best of the 2000s?

Best of the 2010s?

Can you put this instead

Best and least best King book of the 70s?

Best and least best of the 80s?

Best and least best of the 90s?

Best and least of the 2000s?

Best and least of the 2010s?

If possible? :) I figure mods can still edit threats and all.

Most underwhelming book of each decade:
'70s: Roadwork
'80s: Tommyknockers
'90s: Regulators
'00s: Under the Dome (This was a TOUGH call! Dreamcatcher and From a Buick 8 are in my bottom few books as well, but at least I remember stuff from those. I remember almost nothing about UtD)
'10s: Revival

Least fave book of the 70s? The Dead Zone

Least fave of the 80s? The Dark Half

Least fave of the 90s? Bag of Bones

Least fave of the 2000s? Dreamcatcher
(the only SK book I have yet to finish despite having gotten about halfway through 3 times!)

Least fave of the 2010s? A tie: Doctor Sleep & Revival
(excited to read both and wound up so, so, so disappointed in both)
