Barney's Version (2010) - starring Paul Giamatti

Saw it a few years ago, ran across on cable, I had never heard of it, so, maybe I'm wrong and it was wildly popular. Either way, I loved it.
Imho Paul Giamatti is one of the very best actors. He's wonderful in The Illusionist, for instance, and he's very versatile, making all of his characters totally believable.

Winter's Bone (2010) An unflinching Ozark Mountain girl hacks through dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact

Sweet Sixteen (2002) Determined to have a normal family life once his mother gets out of prison, a Scottish teenager from a tough background sets out to raise the money for a home.

Boy Wonder (2010) A traumatized boy grows into a shy, determined teenager who patrols the mean streets of New York City, helping those in need and dishing out severe punishment to remorseless thugs.

Frozen River (2008) Takes place in the days before Christmas near a little-known border crossing on the Mohawk reservation between New York State and Quebec...

I love movies! Some of the lesser known ones:

The Last Kiss (2006)-Zach Braff. Couldn't stand him in Scrubs, but this one has some of the most realistic portrayals of relationships that I've seen.

Headhunters (2011)-The best known person is Nikolaj Coster-Waldeau (Jamie Lannister on Game of Thrones). Norwegian/Danish crime drama with plenty of action and dark humor. Really, really love this movie.

Mutants (2009)-French zombie movie that scared the absolute crap out of me. I haven't wanted to jump up and run out of the room so much since I saw Dawn of the Dead for the first time (the original, when I was about 13-14).

Dead and Buried (1981)-My absolute favorite B-movie. There's a secret in a small town, and only a few people know it. Will the sheriff find out before more visitors die?

Oh my god skimom,I thought nobody else had ever seen it,the same guys were responsible for In Bruges, another quirky little film with the same star..good stuff..
In Bruges is a family favorite (well, not for LilMan, but for the rest of us--lol)! If you like those and have nothing against subtitles, you would LOVE Headhunters. Dark, dark humor, just like In Bruges and The Guard, and plenty of action :)

I saw Boy Wonder on Netflix. Reminded me of Death Wish but with a twist.
