I've got a question about a scene from the original IT. I don't know if this is in the book or not. Towards the end, after Henry is dead, and they are leaving the hotel. Bill hears someone playing Fur Elise, and watches, and closes his eyes. I know this was the same music that the mother was playing at the beginning when Georgie got his boat. Is it some kind of message to him?

Thanks for the welcome. I am a huge fan of some of King's movies and miniseries. I have only read one novella, and that was Cycle of the werewolf. Silver Bullet is my favorite movie, and Bill Denbrough is my favorite character. I could identify with him more as I too stutter.

Thanks to all of the newer welcomes. It feels great to be a part of a great community. I guess the meaning of the scene can be up to one's own interpretation of what it means. I just found it to be too specific to just be a "coincidence", but I could be wrong. I have only read the summary of the book on wikipedia, and have seen the new version. I always thought that Bill's parents distance with him after Georgie's death was It's influence over them. I know the miniseries didn't go into the whole Turtle thing, but there was some kind of force that brought them together. I guess I always thought that maybe it was that force's way of reminding Bill his parent's loved him, or that maybe it was Georgie giving him strength. Guess I'm just a sucker for happier stuff.

it's not something that happens in the book, but for the miniseries' purposes, it was likely a message of sorts, yes.

once you read the book (i highly recommend you do, it's great), there's actually quite a few times where something happens to them as adults that directly calls back to what took place as kids. so it's not that much of a stretch really.

Yeah I do want to read the book one day. My sister told me that if I can watch the movie, I can handle the book.
