Throwing out some thoughts............
with changes in the weekly schedule of the SKMB coming up in January, there might be a need to change the method used for Birthday recognition.

Since there is no longer a monthly calendar , and weekends will now be 4 days, it has become difficult to ck the MB on each closed day/ make a list/ and then post the first open day all the announcements.

Any suggestions?

A possible-- a general month birthday greeting posted on the first open day of the month. I know that takes away from personal greetings,

We would also need a volunteer to take over the B;day thread posts.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

You could have a sign up each month for those who wish to share their birthdays. Put it on them and not a person trying to figure out who is having a birthday. That way you all could only concentrate on those who are interested in the birthday thing. And you can give them virtual presents like you do in that Secret Santa thread. Oh, and by the way… I like cold hard cash, pictures of clothed interesting women (pretty or Golems makes no nevermind to me), and power tools. ;):)

I cannot understand how I missed The Nameless yesterday - I checked under "Today's Birthdays" and his name was not there - how did you know it was his birthday?

Correction: - Just went to his profile and his birthday is listed - I must need new glasses!

It was on the list, sometimes you have to click "more". It's OK Neesy. we all miss names- that's why I am suggesting a change in how they should be posted in January.

This is a very good suggestion - so many times I look for member birthdays and all I find are new members who joined one day, then never posted again (or they show one or two posts, then they just disappear...

Okey dokey - did not even see where I could click "more" - thanks for letting me know.

For example - today is dedMasque birthday and he is 33 but has not been here since September 8th. I will still post a thread, but I am finding this sort of situation over and over lately (people are drifting away, it seems)

Neesy -- one tactic-- if they have not posted in the last month and are relatively new, skip it. If an older member, even if they have been gone, out of respect post a b'day.
