Tommyknockers, page 30. "...why the citizens of a little town in Utah called Blessing had all suddenly gone crazy-or so it seemed-on the same day in the summer of 1884." I've read and re-read The Tommyknockers over the years, and I've always wondered if this was true, or if it was something King made up. Does anybody know if it is true? If so, can you provide sources?

well like the telling says if you didn't know for sure it was okay to imagine--until and unless you found out different. You're not the first and likely not to be the last to wonder about that nugget in Tommyknockers. I know I've read a thread in the past, perhaps in one of the board's previous incarnations, someone asked more or less the same question. Coupled as it is with the mystery of Roanoke Island and the Easter Island monoliths, and taking the above quote in hand, one could as easily imagine it to have actually happened--until and unless you found out different--or take it as it is, another mystery. Isn't Bobbi trying to draw what she imagines the shape to be? Yeah...she is...all about the imagination, so best bet is to wonder.

First, Sorry for my bad english!

Second, I am reading this book and like you, I look internet for know more about Blessing in 1884. I found nothing, only references of King... juste before, I read Bazaar and maybe ( if you read it) it's the guy Who is responsable of this foolish? You know, the Guy Who sell objects in the new shop? He is more oldest than a normal human =p
S. King juste did a wink to Bazaar ? He likes do this things in his book ^^ ( characters of Desolation are all in The Regulators => Richard Bachmann )
