Skyler had very few options left in this scene. She was grasping for a power play but Walt shut her down. She's trapped in a lion's den in this scene, very vulnerable, and their dialogue is written in a natural way yet packed with underlying menace. I like the point where Skyler (afraid but brave) holds a fist to her chest and defiantly declares, "I got them out of this house." Her victory doesn't last long under the calculating gaze of her husband/Heisenberg. It is one of my favorite scenes in the show...top ten livewire moments.

My favorite Breaking Bad scene I love for the dark comedy. Walter invites Jesse to stay for dinner and Skylar just gets drunker and drunker. The discomfort is palpable. While Walter tries to make small talk and Jessie extravagantly praises the food. Skylar asks Jesse if Walter told him about her affair with her boss. Jesse just stares down the glass he's drinking out of. It just cracks me up.

Yeah, that was really funny to watch. Flow Joe mentioned this, too, as one of his favorite scenes. :)

I thought there was a thread created for this . . .

I can't find it but I just started watching this and I am hooked. I love this show! I love Walter.
I watched one season of this show. I just borrowed a DVD from the public library. So I was never addicted to this series. I'm more enthused about Sons of Anarchy, Supernatural and the Vampire Diaries.

Interesting. It's hard to figure how they could have Walt unless they've created some space in between seasons or episodes and inserted a story inside what has already been done.

You know another show they could do would be about what happen to Jessie. They could bookend Breaking bad with prequel (Better Call Saul) and a sequel (Better Call Pinkman :))

about what happen to Jessie.
Yeah, this was my hope. Where the heck did Jessie go? Did he try to be a normal citizen? I'd be interested to see what Skyler did with the
money she would receive from Elliott and Gretchen. I wonder how all this affected Walt Jr too. It's very tempting to want to open that door of curiosity. I think Walt should stay dead. Maybe a flashback? Hmm.

My favorite show of all time. Wish I could have got your reactions incrementally. It's exciting to talk to newbies.
There were times when I had to stop watching because it was just too intense. Fascinating character study, though, in how someone could become so ruthless, or was he always that way and had suppressed that side. Seeing Jesse and others having the many relapses after getting sober was heartbreaking and I really wanted to smack him when he was purposely enabling others to use again. I'd wondered right up to the last few shows if Walter was somehow going to beat the odds again and somehow get out of it but the writing was on the wall that he wouldn't. And by that time I wasn't sure I wanted him to. Call me a romantic but I'd like to think that Jesse made it to Alaska after all and took up woodworking.
