I enjoyed the miniseries so much that not only did I own it, I would watch it over and over while dancing around to "Red Dragon Tattoo". Come to think of it, I have a red dragon tattoo. I felt empathy for what Steve and his family must have endured after the truck accident. That part of the story was right there along with the awesomely creepy sub stories. Great characters and casting. I'll have to figure out how to own them again.

It was awesome! He wrote it and begins with a scene where A famous artist who goes for a jog and gets hit by a van because the driver of the van was trying to get his dog to stop eating the steak out of the cooler between the seats. His injuries are grave and he is transported to Kingdom Hospital,a bizarre hospital full of all kinds of supernatural activity, quirky characters, and very unique and enjoyable subplots. The way everything ties up at the end is beautiful as per usual with him. There's a great soundtrack including a song called "Red Dragon Tattoo" which you will get stuck in your head and end up downloading in order to dance around while singing it. Which I just did.:jammin:

Interesting side note: Fountains of Wayne is named after a business I used to pass all the time driving by on the highway when I was younger. They sold outdoor fountains and such in Wayne, NJ.

Is this the kind of TV show where all the episodes are connected and it gets more mysterious as each week passes? If so, I'm not a fan of those types of shows at all. But thanks for posting and the info.

It is that kind of show but each episode has its own stand alone plot.

All of it. I can't say anything more right now because I just received a notice from my insurance company claiming that I am liable for over two thousand dollars worth of towing and storage on a vehicle that was stolen from me! Evidently, if I don't pay at least five hundred, I can be cited with a possible criminal traffic violation! I have to physically leave my home in order to take care of this. . .wish me luck!

Stephen watched the the original Danish series The Kingdom by Lars Von Trier (who you'll notice is credited as an executive producer on KH) while in the hospital, and first got the idea to contact Von Trier to adapt a version for American television. I saw the original, interestingly enough, right around that same time. It goes somewhat differently than the American version, and the video store didn't carry the whole thing, because it ended with a cliffhanger and I never found out what happened next, because it veered off from the direction of how KH ended up.
