This is a Canadian series starring Billy Campbell. Based on books by Giles Blunt. Has anyone read his work?

This came to me as a recommend from ghost19 and I thank him because it's really a terrific show. I'm just a couple episodes into season 2 now.
More than welcome, DJ. If you like detective shows with very dark overtones, this is a good one. One of the better shows I've came across in a while. There are three seasons available at the moment on HULU and I read the series has been renewed for season 4 later this year.

The wife and I binged on all three seasons, really good but I found it depressing, that's not a criticism, the subject matter and the calibre of the acting combine to make it a riveting watch, the setting and overall tone of the show reminded me of the Scandinavian shows Wallander and The Bridge.

It does have a very desolate tone to the stories and the people. But I did think the acting was very good. The stories were satisfying. I liked season one the best. Hoping season 4 will be strong like that one.
