The new Carrie... likes, dislikes and final thought.
Overall, the remake is watchable, but the Brian De Palma version was a masterpiece, and King's novel was even better.
What I liked:
-Carrie had more fun flexing her telekinetic powers!
-Chamberlain, Maine was destroyed!
-Carrie was making the decision to murder to get revenge.
-The final scene where Sue was interviewed by a committee reminded me of King's inclusion of post-Prom investigations and interviews.
-Sue's pregnancy was acknowledged.
-Seeing Carrie's birth.
What I did not like:
-Chloe Grace Mortez as Carrie - she was too cute and just couldn't coompete with Sissy Spacek's performance. I love Chloe Grace Mortez, but just not in this movie. Poor casting decision.
-Margaret White was too compassionate.
-Chris's death scene was a little over the top.
-If you're going to remake Carrie, take the opportunity to show us King's ending, not the one we saw in the De Palma film.
