Well dear, Im english, and in england you cant get a better surname than Holmes (for obvious reason's) I always like to think the name is short for homosexual since I am one.....and Homosexual's love "Dick"...great name for a gay man..dont you think guys?....but yes just "Dickie" is fine..or Richard

...it's simple shorthand for "Gentle Giant"....a longtime nickname from my full time days as a radio announcer...I still do voicework, and when I am on air-that moniker still gets used nearly 40 years down the road.....

I went with the description of his beard, which is said to be red gold, and two shades lighter than his hair.

I did rely on Google to know what "red gold" was supposed to look like, though, so I am not exactly an expert.
